Cotton Candy!

After his taste of cotton candy at Playhouse Disney Live and at the car show, Andrew was a fan!  He even told me after eating it at the car show "That little bunny will put some in my basket."  So the Easter Bunny had to find fresh cotton candy....and he did.  This is how I found Andrew a couple of days after Easter.
Blue faced and sticky fingered....

Easter (finally)

Ok, so I know I'm terribly behind on my blog posts!  (sorry)  We've been busy busy around here.  Anyway, here they are...

Our morning started with finding our baskets from the Easter Bunny.  Andrew was very excited to see so much candy.  He had to show Uncle first thing.
He even offered him a piece!
Andrew liked his "baby chick."  It's one of those that makes noise as long as it's touching your skin.
Here he's having a little trouble opening an egg that has a little Einstein character in it.
After the excitement had worn down and we finished our breakfast of chocolate bunnies, it was off to church.  Andrew was very proud of the door hangar that he made in Sunday School.
After church it was time for lunch at Granny and Granddaddy's.  We posed for a few family photos before stuffing our faces!  Here's Paw-Paw, Mama, Andrew, and Granna.
And here's a silly Andrew taking a picture with Mommy.
After lunch Andrew got an Easter basket from Granny Margaret.  He was very excited!  Even MORE candy!
Then it was off to hunt eggs.  Aunt Gracie and I hid them.  Andrew had a blast!  He LOVED looking for those eggs and would get so excited every time he'd find one.  He loved it so much that once he found them all, we had to hide them all over again!
Here he is carrying a heavy basket of 24 hard boiled eggs!

Busy Saturday!

Today was a really busy day for us.  Our day started out with an egg hunt at Bethany Baptist church.  Erin and Maggie came with us.  While the adults were busy hiding eggs, the children made 2 crafts.  The first was the egg below and the second was a cross with a lamb and a verse on it.

Andrew showing off his (and my) creation. ;)
Waiting on the glue for project #2
He's telling Granna all about something!
Maggie waiting for the hunt to begin!Look at that face!  This is what total concentration looks like.
This picture cracks me up.  Maggie has this shocked look on her face like "I can NOT believe he is picking his nose!"  **Both of their outfits are courtesy of our friend Jennifer Amos of Polka Dots & Robots....see her blog in my list to the right!**
I didn't take any still pictures of the actual egg hunt, but it's all on video.  Unfortunately I don't have my software here to put it on my computer.  (sorry)  Maggie found 1 egg and Andrew found 2.  He was thrilled!  He wasn't a very aggressive hunter.  After he found his he kind of stood back and watched the madness!  He had a good time.  So did Maggie.  She thought after she found one that she was done.  They were really cute.   The hunt only lasted 5 minutes for the little kids and afterwards they had a party with cake.  We didn't have time to stay.  We had to jet off to Tuscaloosa for my cousin Jason's daughter, Raegan's, first birthday.  (That's a mouth full!)

Miss Raegan Jae had a pink and brown polka dot themed party.  She was SO CUTE!  See for yourself!  (too bad you can't see her whole outfit)
Her cake was cute too and delicious I might add!  The bottom cake was devil's food, which is probably one of my favorites and the icing was extra fluffy....yum!  I wish I had a piece right now.Raegan had her  very own "little" cake, which she dove into right away, but quickly changed her mind.  She decided she didn't like the icing all over her hands.
She was all decked out and ready to party!
And then my camera battery died so I don't have any other pictures...BOO!  She had a great party.  Andrew played with her power wheels VW beetle the whole time!  It was hard to get him to leave, but finally around 4:30, we succeeded.

Then it was back to Birmingham for a quick stop at Annah and Jefforey's house.  Then we had to go to the mall to look for Andrew some shoes to wear with his Easter outfit.   The only shoes he'll wear are his mickey mouse crocks and I didn't think they'd look so good on Easter Sunday!  We found him some cute brown sandals at Stride Rite and I found a last minute dress at Macy's.  We left the mall at 9:15, made one quick Easter bunny stop, and finally made it home at 11:30!  We were all EXHAUSTED! It was a LONG day, but a fun one!

Egg Coloring

Tonight Andrew and I went to Erin's house to dye Easter eggs with Maggie.    We had a lot of fun. I didn't take very many pictures because I was having too much fun with the eggs.  Don't worry, I had the video camera set up.  When we pulled the first egg out of the dye, Andrew got all excited and said "WOW!  It's blue!"  In this first picture, I told Andrew to make a silly face like the one on the egg and this is what he came up with...
Then in this "cheese" shot, he still had the funny look on his face.
Here's a shot of Erin and Maggie before lil bit went to bed.  She is SO CUTE!
We're all going to an Easter Egg Hunt in the morning, and then my family will be going to Tuscaloosa for cousin Raegan's first birthday party!  Stay tuned for those pictures.

Bad Weather Day

We had lots of thunderstorms and tornadoes today.  We even got a nice hail storm with marble size hail!  No worries, the bad weather passed and the sun came out for a beautiful afternoon!

Chick Update

It finally warmed up enough to put the lil chicks OUTSIDE in the chicken coop.  (Let me tell you...Mom was thrilled.)  Here's Fancy Feet.  She's my favorite!
Here they are in their new home.

After we made a few adjustments to the coop, they were all set and pretty pooped!  Aren't they cute?

Baby Chicks!

Spring is in the air (well, not really since it's going to be 29 degrees Monday night) and Easter is right around the corner.  What better way to celebrate the newness of life than with little baby chickens!  So we went down to the Tractor Supply Co to buy some.  (They have baby ducks too, but we raise chickens on this farm)  We came home with 2 Cornish hens, 2 bantams, and 2 Rhode Island Reds.  (They lay lots of eggs)  Here they are.....our new cuties!
All the way home Andrew was dying to hold them.  Finally, when we made it to the house, we let him hold one of the ones that he picked out all by himself.  He named it "Chip."  He was very gentle and he really liked his new friend.
It was pretty chilly outside and we told him that we needed to get chip back inside and under the lamp because he was getting cold.  Andrew's answer was "Well, go get a blanket for him."
Here he says, "He's on my pants!"

Much to Granna and Paw-Paw's dismay, the baby chicks are living in the house right now.  We've got them set up in an old wash tub, with a heat lamp keeping them warm.  We'll move them out to the chicken coop next week when it warms up a little.  :)  But for now, they're in the house with us.  This is how I found them after we got them all settled in....

Andrew loves his baby chicks.  Their names are: Chip, Kent (andrew named those), Lucy, Fancy Pants, Chicka (after the puppet on Sprout), and Dumplin'.   Every morning Andrew comes down the stairs and runs over to the washtub and says "Good mornin' baby chicks.  What doin?"  And anytime we get ready to leave he runs over to say "Bye bye little chickens.  See you later."

My Little Architect

Today Andrew actually made something besides a "tower" with his Lego's.  Normally he just stacks them as high as they'll go and then knocks them over.  But today, he started putting things together in a different shape.  When I asked what he was building, he answered, "A ship."  So here's his first REAL Lego creation!
