Good news everyone! My camera is finally fixed and it's on it's way. I've been lost without it and I know the family will be glad to finally see some new pictures.
Let's keep our fingers crossed that it'll be here by Wednesday.

Oh the things we will put on our car tags!
Ok, so this has nothing to do with the "happenings" of our family, but it way too funny not to share.
Andrew and I were driving back on base yesterday and the security line at the front gate was a little longer than usual. This meant I had plenty of time to gaze upon my surroundings. There was a car in front of me with the license plate that read: H8NMYX (For those of you still trying to figure out what it means: Hating my ex.)
I couldn't help but crack up. That is probably the funniest tag I've ever read. Yeah, he probably gets a few (HUNDRED) laughs a day, but it was a little sad at the same time. What a bitter person! But I must give a big shout out the the X hater...thanks for making my day.

He Walks!
Today was one of those monumental occasions that every parent loooks forward to. Andrew took his first steps! (He kinda faked us out on Sunday and took a lunging step forward as he grabbed onto my legs, but today was the real deal.)
He had been throwing magazines in the floor and I was moving him out of temptation's way. I sat him down on the other side of the room and when I let go, he took off after me. He took two very good steps. From the look on his face he knew he had done something exciting! I scooped him up and gave him a big hug and immediately put him back down to see if he'd do it again...and he DID! This time he took 4 steps. I was so excited that I was in tears. I called Drew and told him all about it. He was excited too. He had to work late tonight, so he'll have to wait and see Andrew's new trick tomorrow.
A couple of times throughout the rest of the afternoon, he took a couple more steps. His confidence is growing and he'll be running before we know it!

We're Back!
The blog is no longer on hiatus!
It has been quite a while since our last post. (We've been busy) The three of us boarded a plane on Dec. 6, headed home for the holidays. We went to Disney World with the Ladner family for a week. Andrew had a pretty good time, but he did NOT like characters. Though it wasn't quite as bad as Santa Clause, he's definetly not a fan. He loved riding the rides. He would "ooh" and "ahh" at all the sights and colors. I think the Nemo musical at Animal Kingdom was his favorite.
We spent Andrew's first birthday in Disney World as well. That's right...our baby is a year old. (I still don't know where all the time went) Grammy arranged a character breakfast at the Grand Floridian to celebrate the big day. Andrew was asleep when they brought the cake to the table, but woke up shortly after we sang Happy Birthday. He didn't dive into his cake, but he liked opening presents. Elizabeth took some pictures for me, which I'll post later. (By the the way, I broke my camera in the happiest place on earth and still haven't gotten it back yet. It should be back soon!)
We spent a few days in Albertville and then it was back to Mississippi for Christmas. We had a great time with all of our friends and family. Santa was good to Andrew. My favorite part of Christmas this year was watching his face when he came into the room and saw all of his toys. It's so fun with kids!
In other news: Andrew learned lots of new tricks while we were home. He started clapping on his birthday, Nana taught him to say "ho, ho, ho", he snaps his fingers, he learned to say "paw-paw", and he blew Erin a kiss! Lots of fun stuff. He's growing so fast and learning so much.
So, after a nice three weeks with family, we're back in Hawaii where the weather is a lot warmer! We're still working on getting our house in order. As if we didn't have enough stuff to unpack, we've been overrun with TOYS!! :) It sure is fun to watch him play. He likes to drive his car, cook in his kitchen, and watch tv in his new recliner.
Now that things are back to "normal" you can expect regular updates. Pictures will resume as soon as I get my camera back!
