Quick Beach Getaway

After the baby dedication, we drove over to Orange Beach for a last minute, 3 day beach getaway.  If we've been to FL this summer, you'll know that it has been very rainy.  So, naturally it was raining when we got there....AND with the exception of a couple of hours total it rained ALL DAY on Monday.  We hung out in the condo and played lots of board games.  Andrew loved playing Quelf.  (most hilarious, random game ever) Anyway,  here are Trace and Aubrey hanging on the balcony.
The two littles had lots of quality time hanging out with each other.  *HUGS*
Since Paw-Paw hates the beach and Granna would rather hang with the grands, they stayed up in the condo most of the day Tuesday while the rest of us hung at the beach.
Look who loves the ocean now!
Oh well...couldn't get the video to load.

Though the babies got to be beach bums for a little bit.

On our last night we tried to get some pictures of the kiddos with Granna and Paw-Paw before heading out to dinner.  Andrew was less than thrilled.  I think he was exhausted from playing in the ocean all day.  And did I mention it was really windy out there?
 Big cheese!
Aubrey and her Granna. (Thanks Granna for the cute outfit)
Someone was so tired that she couldn't stay awake during dinner....passed out in her Daddy's arms.

It was "almost" too dark after dinner for beach pics, so we had to snap quickly.  We had this awesome background but I couldn't quite get Aubrey to sit up...even after digging her down into a little hole, so just pretend Drew's arm isn't in this picture. :)
Andrew had to hold the babies.  Maybe that's why he looks a little stressed in this picture.  Aubrey was mad about sitting in sand....thanks Trace for being a good sport!

It was a quick trip, but we had a blast and at least we got to spend some quality time on the beach.  Summer is flying by way too quickly!

Baptisms and Baby Dedications

Last month we had Aubrey's baptism at Drew's church.  His whole family came to town for the big day.  We had a little party for Aubrey at the house with a "God Bless Aubrey" cupcake cake.  Then we headed over to the church for mass and the baptism.

 Uncle Adam - her Godfather

Aubrey was his last baptism before leaving. He's headed back to teach at the seminary.

Then it was time for baby dedication at my church.
The children's director presented us with some gifts for Aubrey, a big brother book for Andrew,  and then we ended with a prayer.

Though we have an interfaith marriage and our beliefs on some matters are a little different, one thing is for sure:  We want our children to grow up in fear and admonition of the Lord.   (Ephesians 6:4)  Another Bible promise that is near and dear to my heart is Proverbs 22:6. "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it."  It is my prayer that Drew and I will have the wisdom to raise these children in a manner worthy of the King.  May God bless this child and her parents as we do our best in raising her to love, honor, and serve the Lord with all her heart.

Aubrey 6 months

Happy 1/2 birthday Aubrey and Happy Birthday Aunt Gracie!

At her 6  month check up Aubrey weighed in at 14 lbs. 7 oz. and was 25 3/4 inches long.  She looked so happy before the shots.  (Don't worry...there is no after picture).  She's a trooper though and only cries for a second.  She actually stops crying before I can even pick her up.
Aubrey has started eating solid foods.  The girl loves to eat.  I'm making all of her baby food, which is surprisingly easy, so she's getting lots of tasty things.  It's so cost effective too.  For example: I can get 12 jars of baby food from 2 sweet potatoes.  You do the math!  Everything that she has tried so far, she likes. She did make a face when she tried baked apples for the first time.  She prefers them mixed with her cereal.  She has also started practicing with a sippy cup.  She gets a couple of ounces of diluted apple juice every day to keep her regular.
Aubrey has also discovered her toes and chews them regularly.
Pics taken on her 6 month birthday:

Gracie bought her first bikini.  It's pretty stinkin' cute!
 Trace Parker thinks so too!
Also new this month:  Her step and play piano.  She's a fan.

Other cute pics of our 6 month old:

Here's a rare photo where she actually favors me.

Can't believe this little girl is already 6 months old!  Time is flying.....in the words of Andrew...I wish I could push pause on that.

Aubrey 5 Months

Since I'm so behind on my blogging, here's just a picture post of the rest of Aubrey's 5th month:

First playdate with Harlie's (Andrew's girlfriend) little brother.

Modeling her new princess outfit we bought at Disney

Posing in the awesome purple chair I found at Alyssas! (Love that store) "LIKE" them on facebook to join in on their WaCkY Wednesdays auctions.
Always smiling with that mouth WIDE open!

 Practicing our sitting up

 Laughing with Granddad
On July 1st her 2 bottom teeth FINALLY came in.  (She beat her brother by one week getting teeth)
Speaking of her brother....she sure does love him!  (He's pretty fond of her too!)
Bedtime stories by big Brother.  (Never mind the cross-eyed baby) Either she's really focused on something close up or this Spiderman story really freaks her out!
