Cell Phone Pictures

Sometimes I take pictures on my cell phone and they never make it to the blog.  Sometimes I'll take them specifically for facebook and then do nothing else with them.  So I was cleaning out my phone's memory card and thought I'd share some forgotten photos with you:

They boys about to ride Toy Story Mania at Disney
Andrew on Test Trac for probably the 5th time
Carly's First Communion Cake (this thing was HUGE...2 full sheets plus the cross.  My FIL had to build a custom board for me out of plywood.)

My friend, Sara(one of my Hawaii girls), on a surprise visit to Pensacola!
 Andrew at the pool
Andrew in the pool...complete with his life jacket and noodle.
post sand castle building with Gracie
Andrew and Paw-Paw fell asleep watching "The Duke Boys" (aka Dukes of Hazzard)
He seriously fell asleep like this...so we wouldn't know he was sleepy!
So there ya have it...a few photos I found on my cellphone.  :)

The house is coming along.  They should have the fittings finished and the slab poured any minute now. (I haven't driven by the lot in a few days)  We'll keep you posted.

Happy Father's Day

I'm a lucky girl to have a man who is a wonderful husband and father to our son.  God has blessed out little family and for that, I'm extremely thankful.

We spent Father's Day celebrating Drew.  After church (because you know how hectic mornings are before church) we came home and Andrew gave his present to Daddy.
He was very proud of the card he wrote.
Andrew picked out the card all by himself! (cause we're all about super heroes these days)
Andrew also picked out his Daddy's new shirt.  "Now Daddy has one like me!"
Then we finished celebrating the day by a nice, big 'ole Sunday afternoon NAP!  It was awesome!

We had a Happy Father's Day and I hope you told the "Dad" in your life Happy Father's Day today!

Lot Cleared!

Well, they've cleared the lot!  It looks like it's ready for a house now!  Here's a view of the right side.
Now the left...the 2 oaks that are marked on the right of the picture have to go.  They're in the way of the house.
I tried to get the whole lot in this shot.  I got all but the far left property line.  But you get the idea.
Nice group of trees in the back yard.
Drew checking to make sure the house will fit so we can save our glorious oak.  It's a beauty.  And it fits!  It'll be right at the back corner of the house.
We should start breaking ground soon!!

Glorified Campers!

Many of you have been asking, "where are you guys living while your house is being built?" Good question!  But it was one that we answered last week.  Before the family drove down to spend the week at the beach, Drew and I found a nice (UNfurnished) apartment.  We officially moved in Sunday night.

We don't have much in there: a cot, folding table, and chairs we borrowed from the in-laws.  We also have 2 camping chairs borrowed  from my Mom after our beach trip, and we bought an air mattress at 9 pm on Sunday night for Drew and I to sleep on.  Drew also managed to snag a few kitchen essentials from his parents' house too.  So basically, it's like we're camping with a really nice"tent."

Here's what grocery shopping looks like when your cupboards are bare.
 living room/dining room
(does it look dark?  That's because there are no lights in the living room or bedrooms)
luxurious master suite with air bed
Andrew has the best deal in the house!
We've ordered a new bed and it should be here in 2 weeks.  :)

We like the apartment and it's kind of fun without all the "junk." We're not getting cable until we move into the house, which I thought would KILL this TV junkie, but actually it's really nice.  We've had some good, quality family time lately!

I'll be making a trip to Albertville to bring some more essentials and a couple of pieces of furniture very soon.

Lunch at Grandma's

Before being settled 100%, we made the drive over to MS to spend the night and go to the Ladner Family June birthday celebration at Grandma's.  It's always a good time with family and tons of great food.  The kids always have fun.  Today they were enjoying a ride in the golf cart with Drew as their chauffeur.
I like to hang out with sweet Gabriel.  Just look at that face!
Granddad snuck a quick nap on the couch.
At the end of the day, it was back to Pensacola to buy an air mattress.  That's right...we have nowhere to sleep!

House UPDATE

After checking out of our condo, we had to go check on our lot before driving over to MS for the weekend.  We were very excited to drive up and see equipment!
They haven't done much yet, but they did start clearing.
We had gone out before and marked some trees to save.  It was pretty hard since this lot is THICK, but we did find one amazing beauty!  It looks even better since they've cleared around it a little bit.
We're pretty excited that things are FINALLY getting moving!  Stay tuned for more updates...

Florida's Best Kept Secret

Well, we have officially made the move to Florida, but to kick off our stay, my family decided to rent a condo in Navarre Beach for the week. (And we didn't technically have a place to live until our house is built...and the travelodge wasn't that appealing for 3 months) {We did find a temporary place to live...but that's another blog post}

Anyway, back to our vacation.  Navarre Beach is referred to as "Florida's best kept secret" and I'll agree with that statement.  I'm in LOVE with Navarre.  We stayed on the 11th floor of the Belle Mer condos. (I highly recommend this place!)  I didn't take too many pictures all week because, frankly, I was having too much fun.  I did manage to squeeze in a few, like this on of Andrew...ready to hit the pool!
When we were at the beach, Andrew pretty much hung out under our tent.
He would eventually come down to the shoreline and run around, but he dared NOT to get in the ocean.
We had a beautiful view of the sunset over the Santa Rosa sound.
This was our campsite every day.
Gulf on the left, sound on the right....gorgeous!
Andrew was very proud to show off his new Superman undies.
What's a trip to the Gulf without CRABS!!
And you can't go to the beach without taking pictures on the balcony!

 The girls
We were going to do traditional pictures on the beach, but for the first time all week, it was coming a thunderstorm, so we opted out of that beach tradition.  Plus, Andrew was in no mood for photos.

We had a great week and I can't wait until we do it again.  Navarre is only 30-40 minutes from our "to be built" house, so once it's built, come see us and we'll check out Florida's best kept secret together!
