Aubrey 10 Months

Aubrey is now 10 months old.  She has 7 teeth, working on 8.  She loves to smile, scoot around the floor, eat table food, and play with her Bubba.  We see more and more of her personality everyday.  And girlfriend can give some nasty looks.  Sometimes you tell her something and she furrows that brow and looks at you like you're CRAZY!  Drew said "Where did she learn that?  Who taught her that?"  I said, "Honey, she's a girl...she's BORN with that!"  I can tell....we're in trouble with this one, but you'd never guess by looking at this sweet face...

Whoooo's a cutie?
 My lil Turkey
This is her scooting position.  She never has crawled...only scoots on her bottom.  She's quick too!
 Saints Fans
As you can see, she's finally starting to get a little more hair.

 Let's play "beat Daddy"
She and I had the flu recently and ever since, she's been in our bed.  (But she's so cute)

Marine Corps Ball 2013

After girls day in Birmingham, Aubrey and I had to immediately drive back to FL because today was the Marine Corps Ball.  My good friend, Kel, was in town so we got to spend a girls day of our own, so to speak.  She went with me to meet my hair gal Gigi.  We hung out at her salon while she did my hair and makeup.  (The thing I love about the Ball...not having to get myself ready!  It's one day out of the year that I can be pampered and then get to wear a pretty dress at the end of the day!)
This year's ball was a little different.  We didn't have it at the Naval Aviation Museum.  (boo)  We did have a pre-party/dinner downtown, though...which we were pretty late to because of a little last minute wardrobe malfunction (thanks a LOT baby weight!  Man, I gotta get rid of the rest of that stuff!)
(look at that handsome Marine)
 HT-18 field grade officers
Field Grade wives.  (Kim, remember what it was like in Hawaii when we were newbies...seeing the "major's wives" differently?  Now we are those wives!  So weird, huh?
We got so busy talking and making some new friends that when we looked at our watch we were late for the ceremony, so we went home instead.  (Real party animals, I know!  But it wasn't at the museum this year and our kids were at home with Kel - thanks Kel- you're the best, and I wanted to go watch LSU beat Alabama.  (which didn't happen).  At least we stopped at Krispy Kreme on the way home!  Oh well...we still had a great night, even though we only went to the dinner/pre-party.

**We heard later that we didn't miss a thing.  Since the ball was at the "O Club" at NAS Pensacola, there was NO ROOM for all the people.  They had tents set up outside with closed captioned tvs (that didn't have sound) so you could see the ceremony, which we heard was also cut short and skipped some of my favorite parts.  **

Big shout out to Gigi for my fabulous hair and makeup.  Thanks for making me look "beautimous."

Still looks fresh after 7 hours!

I hope next year's ball will have a few old, familiar faces! *Fingers crossed*

Christmas Village

We had been waiting for a whole year and it was finally here....CHRISTMAS VILLAGE!!!  My mom, my sister, and I have a little pre-Christmas tradition.  Every year we go to the civic center in Birmingham for the most glorious of all Christmas shows.  We make a day of it (sometimes 2); a girls day...mother-daughter day.  It's great girl time and we have a blast shopping til we drop.  If you've never been, I highly recommend it.  3 years ago I bought most of my Christmas presents here.  There are over 700 vendors in the two-story exhibit ball.  Like I said...GLORIOUS!
*All of the following are cell phone photos...sorry some are blurry!
Last year, Annah and I were pregnant.  This year, we had a couple of extras in tow.  (Trace got to crash our girls day!)  Mom got them matching outfits so we had to have their pictures made with Santa.  Trace was cool with it, but Aubrey apparently takes after her brother!  Aubrey was a bad influence because Trace was totally all smiles until Aubrey started crying.  Then he thought he should be upset too.  Oh well, lil girl...maybe next year.

These two were such little troopers.  Trace spent his day waving at everyone.  Aubrey spent most of hers asleep in the ergo baby carrier.  When they were both in the stroller, they just had to be touching each other.  (I love that they love each other!)

We took a lunch break....time for a photo op.
This one did NOT want to take a nap.  He "accidentally" fell asleep once for like 5 minutes...sitting STRAIGHT UP.  He woke up when we tried to move him.
At the end of the day we were EXHAUSTED!  We took a Sissy picture (with our tag alongs) in the sleigh, that I was pretty sure we almost broke!  And just like that Chriatmas Village 2013 is in the books.  See ya next year!
