I Hate Mosquitoes

Andrew woke up the other morning with his face COVERED in mosquito bites.  Apparently one (or more) got in the house and ate him up during the night.  He was miserable from the itching!  This ear had 3 bites on it alone!

I counted 11 total.  Yes, ELEVEN!  Poor baby.  His right ear got worse after this picture and I think I have a shot of it still on my camera.  I took a picture because no one would believe how swollen it really was without one.   Luckily, this happened the day AFTER his Easter photo shoot!

Speaking of photo shoot...those pictures should be in tomorrow and I"ll post them ASAP.  He's a cutie!

Vocal Stylings of Drew

At the dinner table, Drew decides to start singing "Angie" by the Rolling Stones, in a rather horrible disturbing almost average Mick Jagger impersonation; to which Andrew responded in the honest and concerned manner:  "Are you ok Daddy?"    (We're still laughing)

Meet Pepper...

Apparently the Easter Bunny came early to our house...literally.  I don't know how this happened or who's idea this was (DREW), but somehow Andrew is the proud new owner of one adorable little bunny named Pepper!  (Aww...isn't he/she cute!)

Andrew loves his new pet bunny and is very proud of her.  He had really been missing Chiquita (who is in AL at the moment...thanks Mom)...AND we had taken him to the pet store a few times to look at bunnies because he's having his Easter pictures made on Thursday with a live bunny.  We wanted to prepare him for that so he wouldn't be surprised and thus not take a good picture.  Alas, between his reaction to the bunnies at the store and Drew wanting to do something special for him since he'll miss Easter this year, we ended up with Pepper.
She's (or He's) so tiny...for now.  And adorable!  Drew and I both had rabbits growing up so we both know what a pain they can be.  So far, Pepper is pretty great.  She's even taking to litter box training.  That comes in real handy for cleaning out the cage!  We bought a little "play pen" for her so we let her out to run around and play with Andrew.  He enjoys feeding her carrots and yogurt chips.
She really likes playing with him to.  Or maybe she's teasing him because she likes to run circles around him and then jump on him!  He thinks it's fascinating!  I have no idea why he's not wearing pants!
The day after we got Pepper, our neighbor rescued found a bunny in the field behind  our house.  She knew we had Pepper, so she brought it to our house and asked if we wanted to babysit keep it since she has 3 dogs and 2 cats.  Not to mention she was leaving the next day for a month long vacation.  She told me that she had posted signs in the neighborhood, but no one had called.  She wanted him to have a good home and since I can't say no to anyone, we ended up with another bunny...in a cat carrier.  Now this bunny was a full grown Holland Lop; white with brown spots; a real cutie-pie.  But smelly!  We didn't really want another bunny.  We're perfectly happy with Pepper.  We kept it for 4 days, the owner never called so we posted an ad on craigs list: FREE BUNNY to a good home.  Within the hour a family called and viola! bunny had a home. Sweet huh?  Well here's where the story gets good...
Today, the neighbor who found the bunny's husband knocked on the door with the phone number of the TRUE OWNER of the bunny!  Gee Whiz!  They live a few doors down and we have just given away their precious bunny that they've had for a year!  They have a little girl who is very upset.  Drew called her and explained the situation.  We gave them the number of the family who adopted said bunny and hoped for the best.  I was just sick!  All these different scenarios kept going through my mind.  I called the people who adopted bunny and left a message that went something like this: "I am SO sorry!  I feel terrible.  If you decide to give the bunny back to the owners, I'll buy you a new bunny for your trouble!"
I mean, here we are taking in a stray that we don't want and then we give the thing away !  *sigh*
I called the true owner back and she said she explained the whole thing to the adoptive family.   They understood and gave the bunny back.  I just feel sorry for the little 6 year old girl who thought she had a new pet.  They never called me back so I guess I don't need to buy a bunny?

Rock Stars

While at Target last night (which was my 2nd trip of the day), we made an impulse buy.  Ok, well it wasn't totally an impulse buy, since we almost bought it after Christmas.  We bought Band Hero for our Wii.  Here's a shot of my two little rock stars jammin' together.

*Author's Note*
We didn't feel so bad the next day, since we made $218.50 at our yard sale.  Hooray for yard sales!

Feed the Birds

Andrew and I were going a little stir crazy in the house so we decided to pack a lunch and hit the beach.  We headed out to the lagoons at the Ko'Olina.  While Andrew was eating his turkey sandwich made with the best two end pieces of bread, he gathered quite the little audience.

He likes to feed the birds.  At one time I counted over 45!
When lunch was over, he proceeded to chase the birds...which is probably his favorite thing to do at the beach!
It was a gorgeous day and we had fun.  Man, I'm going to miss this place!

Happy Birthday to Me!

My birthday started out with Andrew waking up 2 hours early, then later having a #2 accident in his pants (first one in 10 days), and then I got a letter saying that my teaching certificate had not been renewed. (That's all cleared up now so no worries.) So after a not-so-fun start, my day had nowhere to go but up.

Andrew and I drove over to Kaneohe to meet Drew and some of our friends for dinner at my favorite restaurant, Haliewa Joe's.  It was fabulous as always!  Drew surprised me and had the waitress bring me a beautiful, tropical flower arrangement.   Isn't it GORGEOUS?
While we were waiting on our food, Andrew heard some music playing, held out his little hand, and said "Mama, may I please have this dance?"  Melt my heart! (His Daddy taught him that by the way)  So, of course, I danced.
He danced with Abigail too.  Such a ladies man!
Dinner was fabulous and dessert was even better.  I had the famous "baby cake."  Yum!  Thanks to my friends who came out with us.  To my mainland friends...I miss you and wish you could have been there too!  It was a fun night...celebrating my 29th birthday...for the first time.  ;)

Happy Birthday Kenz!

Andrew's best friend and next door neighbor, Mackenzie, had her birthday party on Feb. 20.  Andrew was very proud to deliver the present himself.

Static fun with balloons

Mrs. Kim give the birthday girl some static too.
Mommy entertained the kids with balloon hats, swords, and animals.  (Thank you clown ministry!)
What's a party without a piƱata?
Kenz takes a turn.
Enjoying the booty.
Blowing out the candles...
Happy Birthday Mackenzie!  Thanks for a great party!

So what's been up?

At least that's Andrew's question lately.  He usually asks at the dinner table and he usually directs the question at Drew.  We're eating and he'll look thoughfully into his father's eyes, and say "So what's been up, Daddy?"  Drew then goes into detail about his day.  It's really cute!  I think it's sweet that he already understands the importance of family meal time! :)

In other Andrew news:  The "poo" issue has been going really well.  We were on a 5 day streak, when we had 2 accidents, but we're back on track now and things are looking up!  I hope we're outta the woods now.

He is also making lots of new friends on the street and is really coming out of his shell in public.  (Anyone who knows him, knows that he is nowhere near shy at home).  He is also in the children's choir at church and will be singing on Easter Sunday morning.  Though we practice the songs at home and he sings them in the car, he has yet to actually sing at practice.  We'll see how it goes.  But at least he loves going!  The only sad thing is that Drew will be in Yuma, AZ.  Don't worry...I'll have the whole thing on video.

Now what's been up with me and the blog?...a whole lotta NOTHIN'!  (sorry)  I normally only update the blog when I have fun pictures to share, but readers are getting restless, so I'd better at least SAY something!  I do have pictures from Mackenzie's 3rd birthday party and 2 pictures from my birthday dinner, but they're still on the camera.  Soon.

Bare With Me

So I'm working on giving the blog a face lift.  For all you OCD's out there, I feel your pain....the picture on the header is driving me crazy.  I'll fix it! :)  But not tonight.  Sleep comes first.

Stay tuned.
