The Price Is Right

Yes I know, there are no picures with this post. I do have several to update...maybe I'll get to that after Andrew goes to bed. However, this funny story couldn't wait.

Drew and I love The Price Is Right. We tape it everyday and watch it when he gets home from work. (I understand this makes us sound really old, but hey...it's a great show) So just a few minutes ago we started watching today's episode and as Rich Fields starts the legendary phrase "So and so....Come On DOWN!" Andrew chimes in and says "on down." Drew and I looked at each other and said "Did he just say on down?" Sure enough EVERY single time "come on down" was said, Andrew yells out "on down!" It's so funny!

Drew is so proud!

Father's Day Weekend

Drew and his friend Kelly went riding their dirt bikes this past Saturday. So Kristina and I, being the good lil wives that we are, decided to take the babies and surprise our hubbies for Father's Day. I baked a devil's food cake and we took them pizza. They were pretty surprised to see us. Andrew took his Father's Day present for Daddy and gave it to him at the track. (Mommy saved hers for Sunday morning).

Sunday Andrew and I cooked Drew breakfast in bed. He fell on his hip on Sat. so he was a little beat up. :) Then we went to church, and had a cookout at Kelly and Kristina's. It was a lot of fun. Drew even got to play Halo, so if you ask him it was a pretty good Father's Day. I'm glad Drew got to be here for this one, since he was deployed on his first Father's Day.

Here are some pictures of Andrew that I've taken recently. He's so hard to take pictures of now b/c he's too busy playing. He doesn't have time to look at the camera and smile. He's still cute though. And his new thing...he learned to say "thank-you." He says please for EVERYTHING, but on Sunday he said "thank-you" at the appropriate time. I'm glad he's a polite kid!

Design Center

Last Thursday, Drew and I went to the design center to pick out all of the fun details for the house. We picked out some really nice tile for the kitchen and bathrooms, carpet, garage doors, security systems, and a whole lot more. It was so much fun! We've decided that this is good practice for when we build our dream house one day. There was so much that we couldn't pick out, like light fixtures and things like that. They just call them "standard." Of couse we have the option of going out and upgrading on our own, but they look nice so we'll spend our money elsewhere.

And of course after being at the design center all day we just HAD to know what the house looked like, so we picked Andrew up from my friend Kristina's house (bless you Kristina! I still owe you BIG TIME) and drove over to Waianae. All of our siding was up and they had finished the roof! They had started the electrical but called it quits a little early b/c of a storm. The house is moving right along. We should be expecting a call this week about doing a "hard hat tour." Exciting stuff! The beach park nearest our house.

Siding and roof complete....they need to paint :)

Sweet Kisses

My son sure knows how to make my heart melt. Last night, during our bedtime routine, I was singing to Andrew as always. During my song he raised up, leaned over, and gave me the sweetest kiss right on the lips. Then he laid down and went right to sleep. His kiss said "thanks Mom. I love you!" Oh, my heart just melted into a pile of mush. I took a minute right then to thank God for my precious gift.

If you have kids, go tell them you love them right now!

Lake Tahoe Wedding

We just got back from my college friend, Heather's wedding in Lake Tahoe. If you've never been to this part of the county.......GO! It is so beautiful. I wish I had the words to do it justice, but I don't. We flew into Reno on Thursday morning. The first surprise....there was SNOW in the mountains! IN JUNE! I couldn't believe it. I guess I'm just used to living in Hawaii where it's warm all the time.

We spent most of the day in Virginia City. If you're not familiar with this area, this is Gold Country, where the Comstock Lode was found. (Or if you watch Bonanza...it's where those Cartwright boys live) We saw the Bonanza bar and the Ponderosa. Andrew drank a Sioux City Sarsaparilla. It was fun.

By the time we made it to our hotel, we were all pooped from the red eye flight from Hawaii, so we took a nap. Andrew stayed on Hawaii time the whole trip, going to bed around midnight every night.

Friday was full of pre-wedding activities: rehearsal, rehearsal brunch, lingerie party...yada yada yada. Saturday was the big day. The wedding started at noon. I had to be there at 11 to practice with the D.J. (oh yeah...I'm the wedding singer) We got dressed early and was ready to leave our hotel at 10:40, which was good because the car wouldn't start! I started to get nervous. But between Drew getting a cab and finding some jumper cables, I made it with 3 minutes to spare.

The wedding was absolutely gorgeous! It was held outside at the Edgewood Golf Course with beautiful Lake Tahoe and snow covered mountains as our backdrop. I'm telling you....outta this world beautiful. And Heather looked absolutely breathtaking! Her dress was made for her. (I love weddings and it was just perfect!)

After the wedding we drove around the lake. We saw Emerald Bay, home of a viking castle and we saw the house or should I say estate where Godfather II was filmed. Neat stuff. It was a nice getaway for our family. And one day when we're rich and famous (lol) we're going to have a condo in Tahoe. Ok, so my first picture was one of a mustang, but it had pink racing stripes..I've never seen one like that!
Andrew is excited and ready for adventure.

Silver City....I think.

Coming Right Along...

I took Drew's aunt Lisa, cousin Austin, and cousin Cameron to see our house last Tuesday and I was surprised to see so much progress in only 3 days. We had spent the day at the North Shore, so we decided to go to the house via the Koli Koli Pass. (A road only for military that goes from Waianae to Schofield army base) The view is gorgeous! The best part...it only took 20 min! View from the KoliKoli lookout
Look we have windows and siding!

Hard at work....build boys build!

Pee Pee in the Potty!!

Milestone alert::
We're starting to potty train. Yes, I know Andrew is not quite 18 months old yet, but it was all his idea. The past week or so he has been telling us when he has to "poo-poo" and then asks us to change his diaper. He usually says "I poop", then he does his business, wrinkles up his nose and says "shoo," followed by "peas"(please), meaning he wants a new diaper. So, we bought a little potty last night. He was already asleep when we got home so we tried it out first thing this morning and guess what????? He went pee pee in the potty TWICE today!!! He didn't get another chance because we were out and about running errands.

So, wish us luck. It's a long road ahead, but I think Andrew is ready!!

Progress on the house

Sea Country lot #21
It will be this color.
Standing in the doorway of Andrew's room leading out to his lanai.
Then we got busted for being on a construction site even though we had
a pass, so no more walking around IN the house.
Beautiful mountain view (and more construction) Ag buffer land in front,
so no neighbors in our back yard.
Ocean view. It's much better from the upstairs balcony
off of the master bedroom.

Drew, Andrew, and I drove out to the house this afternoon to check on the progress and hooray we have a roof now! I finally managed to take some pictures to share with all of you. I've also included pictures from the model home (like ours) so you can get an idea of what our house will EVENTUALLY look like. The only difference is our house is the reverse of this layout. (I'll explain with each picture) And sorry the format is so crazy, but it's way too late for me to worry about that. Just be glad I'm updating the blog :)

Keep in mind these are pics of the MODEL HOME....same floor plan though.
