Family Beach Weekend!

My family came down for the long weekend and Mom and Dad rented a condo in Navarre.  I'm just gonna say that I think the beach in October might be my favorite thing EVER!  Our fall has been pretty busy and it's only going to get worse, so to have 3 days of pure relaxation, where I didn't check my email or facebook 40,000 times a day and just hang out with my family....it was pure bliss!  The weather was perfect.  The first day it was pretty hot and sunny.  Then on Saturday it was nice and cloudy.  It was just warm enough that you didn't need a jacket, but cool enough so you weren't sweating like in the summer.  Trace and Aubrey had fun playing together.  Trace is like his Momma; he LOVES the sand.  He kept crawling off the blanket and eating it!  Aubrey is like her Momma; she liked being on the beach as long as she wasn't in the sand.  Every time I'd try to put her toes in it, she'd pick her legs up and try to get away.

Ahh...sitting on the beach with coffee...PERFECT!
We stopped by our friend Arleen's pumpkin patch while we were in her neck of the woods.  I took some pics of Aubrey on the big pumpkin.

The 6 year old on the other hand, didn't want his picture taken.
He just wanted to get back to the condo and play with Granny!
Granna and Paw Paw played babysitter up in the condo so the big kids could have some beach time without chasing down kiddos.
Then on Saturday afternoon, we tried to get some beach pictures of the kiddos.  Well, as I mentioned before Aubrey does NOT like the sand, so when you stick her in it to have her picture made, she gets a little mad.  These are the only 3 pictures where she looks remotely calm.

The rest of the time, she pretty much looked like this!
It was a great trip!  We had some great family time, got to RELAX, and Auburn stuck it to Johnny Football and beat Texas A&M!  War Eagle, HEY!

Visit from Uncle Adam

Uncle Adam came to see us for the weekend and he brought his girlfriend, Kristen with him!  (We like her a lot.)  We had plans to go to the beach while they were here, so that's what we did....even though Hurricane (at the time) Karen was on her way.  We got to the beach and the waves looked like a winter's day on the North Shore.  The water was off limits to everyone but the surfers, so we spent the afternoon playing in the sand.

Uncle Adam got in trouble by the lifeguard. "Sir get out of the water."

 A little frisbee
Beautiful sunset.  All those folks were flocking to the news crews.
 Look at that hairdo!

We love it when Uncle Adam comes to visit, which unfortunately isn't that often.  Hopefully he'll get to come back soon! (And hopefully he'll be bringing Kristen with him!)

Quick Beach Getaway

After the baby dedication, we drove over to Orange Beach for a last minute, 3 day beach getaway.  If we've been to FL this summer, you'll know that it has been very rainy.  So, naturally it was raining when we got there....AND with the exception of a couple of hours total it rained ALL DAY on Monday.  We hung out in the condo and played lots of board games.  Andrew loved playing Quelf.  (most hilarious, random game ever) Anyway,  here are Trace and Aubrey hanging on the balcony.
The two littles had lots of quality time hanging out with each other.  *HUGS*
Since Paw-Paw hates the beach and Granna would rather hang with the grands, they stayed up in the condo most of the day Tuesday while the rest of us hung at the beach.
Look who loves the ocean now!
Oh well...couldn't get the video to load.

Though the babies got to be beach bums for a little bit.

On our last night we tried to get some pictures of the kiddos with Granna and Paw-Paw before heading out to dinner.  Andrew was less than thrilled.  I think he was exhausted from playing in the ocean all day.  And did I mention it was really windy out there?
 Big cheese!
Aubrey and her Granna. (Thanks Granna for the cute outfit)
Someone was so tired that she couldn't stay awake during dinner....passed out in her Daddy's arms.

It was "almost" too dark after dinner for beach pics, so we had to snap quickly.  We had this awesome background but I couldn't quite get Aubrey to sit up...even after digging her down into a little hole, so just pretend Drew's arm isn't in this picture. :)
Andrew had to hold the babies.  Maybe that's why he looks a little stressed in this picture.  Aubrey was mad about sitting in sand....thanks Trace for being a good sport!

It was a quick trip, but we had a blast and at least we got to spend some quality time on the beach.  Summer is flying by way too quickly!

Day Trip To PCB

After church we drove over to Panama City to visit my cousin, Jason and his family.  Andrew was so excited to get to see Raegan.   They had a lot of fun playing in the water.

After all the fun, I think they were a little tired.
Before heading to diner, we took some pictures of them on the beach.  Andrew wanted his picture with Rae, but as you can see, he didn't want to smile.

 We had a beautiful sunset
It was a great day.  I'm glad we got to drive over and see some family...even if Jason is an Alabama fan!  Every time we get to see them it makes me wish we lived closer.

Family Vacation

This past week, my family rented a beach house in beautiful Cape San Blas, Fl.  It was a great week!  We had some rain, but that just meant more naps for me!   Due to Drew's work schedule, he was only able to join us for the first day and a half, so we had to take our family pictures the second night.  Now the cape is on Eastern time and we were headed to dinner, so even though these pictures were taken at 7 pm, it was still WAY too bright!  This first picture cracks me up....as we're all looking into the sun!  And someone please remind me to CLEAN MY LENS....I don't think I realized it was dirty until around day 4!  *Fail*
Gracie and Andrew waiting on the new location.
This one is a little better.  At least we're not looking directly into the sun.

Then we headed over to the Dockside grill, where we had lovely views of the harbor.  We walked around looking at all the nice boats, dreaming of a life out to sea.

Andrew hanging in the bunk bed.  (Note: he didn't sleep here...only watched TV)
Building sand castles with Gracie because she's the best sandcastle builder!
Our little slice of paradise for the week! "Sea Forever"
 We loved the seclusion!
This is the most people we saw all week.

Toward the end of the week, we headed over to the Sunset Coastal Grill.  But before we could eat, we had to take some more pictures for Mom's mother/daughter frame.
Jefforey was our photographer for the night and he loves taking "candid" shots.  I have no idea what was so funny, but this picture makes me smile!

 There's our photographer!
One night we had a little visitor.  He was also very good at waking us up every morning.  Andrew fed him a roll.  He was very appreciative.
On our last night on the beach we took all of our extra bread and tried to feed the seagulls.  But not before posing for some MORE pictures.   (I love this one of Granny and Andrew)

 Granna and Paw-Paw
If you know my Dad, you know he can't be serious for very long.  So, dear 'ole Dad picked a sea oat and tickled Granna's neck, making her believe there was some critter crawling on her.  I just so happened to catch him in the act.  (This one also cracks me up!)
The seagulls here on the cape are not quite as adept to human feedings as they are in Pensacola, so you had to throw the bread really high to get their attention.  I literally pulled a muscle trying to throw it high enough.  Sad, isn't it?!
Andrew just wanted to eat his bread.

Doesn't that face just make you melt!
 My beautiful Granny!
We had such a great time, that we didn't want to leave.  We played board games EVERY NIGHT, I took LOTS of naps, Dad and I found an undiscovered sea turtle next complete with turtle tracks, and we spent some time in the sun.  (Ok, some of us did....every time I tried to go out, it rained!)
