The Rest of Our June at a Glance

After our trip to Disney, we headed to Albertville for a pretty busy weekend.  A friend of mine got married and it was Father's Day.  When we got there, Aubrey and Trace were happy to see one another.  

The next day was Carrie and Tim's wedding.  It was beautiful!  I'm so glad I got to be there.  Our former youth minister (my first one ever) who has been a missionary in Brazil for the past 18 years, was home on furlough and actually performed their ceremony.  It was special.  The last time I saw Chris and Melody was at OUR wedding almost 9 years ago!

Later that night, some of the old youth group and their families got together at Catfish Cabin to reminisce.   Good times were had by all.

 The next day was Father's Day.  We went to Granny's house after church and I was able to catch a few pictures of "Daddy" with his kiddos.

 Later that afternoon we went to Granny Nita's where Aubrey  hung out on the table.

 Drew had to leave that day, but the kids and I stuck around for a few extra days to help out.  My grandmother had knee surgery and we needed a few extra hands around.   Being there a little longer gave us time to play and take pictures of the kiddos!

I got to keep Trace Parker for a few hours on a couple of days while Mom was at the hospital with Granny.  Andrew liked playing babysitter.  He gave Trace his bottle and rocked him to sleep.

 This picture cracks me up!  Aubrey very quickly lost interest in our little photo shoot and Andrew wasn't happy because he was being eaten by mosquitoes...it was just funny!

Two weekends later the kids and I made it back to Albertville for Mt. Calvary's 75th Anniversary Homecoming.  It was a quick trip this time but I'm glad to I got to see a lot of my home church family.  And of course, the kiddos got to spend some more time together.

Ashley's Grandview Wedding

My super busy weekend continued by driving to Chattanooga, TN for a wedding at Grandview, atop lookout mountain.  

 My sister's friend since the age of 2, Ashley, got married in a beautiful outdoor ceremony. 

 Lil Sis was a bridesmaid.  (This was the first time I had seen her in 2 1/2 months!)

It was a beautiful ceremony and fun reception.  We danced the night away. (Ok, so this old lady only did the cupid shuffle...what can I say?  I have a bad back.)  But the rest of the crowd danced the night away.  Congratulations Ashley and Erik!

Tim & Amy's Wedding Weekend

Drew's best friend from high school got married in New Orleans this past weekend and we had the privilege of sharing his special day with him.  Tim and Amy did a fantastic job planning this wedding!  Every single detail was carefully planned and executed.  It was a very elegant black and white wedding, straight out of wedding magazines.  Enough of that...you'll see for yourself in the 41 pictures that follow!


We arrived in New Orleans on Friday with just enough time for Drew to give Tim his very special wedding gift.

 Tim had a great vinyl collection, but lost it in Katrina. 

 Speaking of Katrina,  I couldn't resist taking a picture of this bumper sticker in the parking lot of the rehearsal.

 After the rehearsal, we drove to Ralph's in the Park for the rehearsal dinner.  We had the event room upstairs reserved, with a great view of City Park.  There was another surprise waiting for Tim and Amy when we arrived.  Tim's Mom had made all these little dioramas depicting the story of Tim and Amy.  The first one, of course, was how they met.  (Remember from their wedding shower post, they met on set "Barefoot In The Park," where they played a newlywed couple.)

 Next: the engagement.  Tim proposed in Central Park in NYC.

This one had to do with a fortune that Amy once had read for her.  Something about her living in Paris with 5 kids!  (The lovely couple are honeymooning in Paris right now!)

 Now I'd like to take a moment and brag on the food at Ralph's. If you ever find yourself in New Orleans, go.run. EAT THERE!  The appetizers alone are worth the trip.  We had fried eggplant with cajun sauce,  a fried green tomato with a shrimp on top, and boudin sausage balls with pepper jelly glaze.   So good! The rest of the meal was just as delish.  Ok, now on to the big day....


Drew and I drove back over to New Orleans early on Saturday and had lunch with the groom and all his friends at Jaxson's Brewery.  (Another yummy meal: I had a shrimp Poboy) Then it was back to the Bourbon Orleans hotel to get ready for the ceremony.   

 Tim's 2 younger brothers and friend were with us and they couldn't help posing for some future facebook profile pics.

 The ceremony was held at Rayne United Methodist Church, which was built circa 1868.  It was gorgeous!

 One of the highlights, and another surprise for the evening, was a little dance number put on by the groom's family.  They did a production called "Tim's life in song."  It was complete with choreography and everything.  This particular picture was from the "Walk This Way" portion on the lyrics "give me a kiss."
