Braving the Storm

After church, we drove down to the beach to brave Tropical Storm Lee.  Na, not really.  We just wanted to see what the waves looked like.  It was raining, of course, when we got there, so this is what happens when it's pouring and rain/sea spray gets on your cell phone camera lens.

This weather is less than ideal for a hair do!
We sat in the car for a few minutes until that band of rain blew over and then actually saw a break in the clouds for the first time since Friday.  So we hopped back out of the car and had our picture taken on the beach.  Still windy!  Lucky for Kel...she has wind-proof hair!
For a Hawaii girl, these waves were no big deal, but for folks who are used to the calm waters of the Gulf, it was quite a different story.  They were really rolling in.  I couldn't get over how the sand had blown all over the parking lot.  In the above picture, we're being sand blasted!
We've had a lot of rain thanks to this storm, but we're finally glad to see it moving north.  There is hope that we'll see blue sky again!
