Today, we had Andrew's 5th birthday party! (Technically he's not 5 yet, but we've celebrated already!) Last night he got to open his birthday present for Aunt Gracie. She thought he might want to wear it to his party. (It says Super Andrew on it.)
Andrew wanted a superhero party this year with the primary focus on Spiderman. So we had a few superhero ideas. This was our "Superhero Transformation Station" where the kids got to decorate masks that I cut out of foam paper. Food tables
Zya, ahem..."Super O" modeling her mask.
Robert showing off his super muscles.
We set up a superhero obstacle course in which the kids were to slide into the bouncy house and "diffuse a bomb" (pop a balloon), then slide out, climb through the tunnel, and finally manage to get through the web maze we created between a couple of trees. BUT...what do you think a bunch of 4 and 5 year olds wanted to do when they saw the bouncy house??? That's right, JUMP. So that's what they did. And they had a blast! It was tough getting them to come inside for food and cake, but luckily I think they were all freezing and finally came in! This year's cake is covered in rolled buttercream and airbrushed. Andrew had to make sure I included all of his favorite superheroes.
"Happy Birthday to you!"
Make a wish!
My sweet boy! I can't believe he's about to be 5!
And he's done with the smiling!
Time for presents
Checking out his game table from Grammy and Granddad.
Later on....he didn't get any cake at the party because he was too busy opening presents. So he had 2 little pieces after dinner!
Andrew had a great party. Thank you to all his friends/family that came. I know he appreciated having all of you here.
